Creative Loafing Contest
If any of you are fiction writers, Creative Loafing has announced their annual short story contest, and the word you have to use in some way for your story is "slip." Check out the website for more info.

Re: Creative Loafing Contest
I think I'm going to give it a shot. I've been wanting to start writing more fiction-oriented things again, and I suppose this could serve as my motivation to actually get something done.
Thanks for reminding me this competition existed! :)
Part of me wants to use my typewriter for this, for the manuscript, but I'm not sure if that would be met at their office with intrigue/appreciation, or just groans/rolling of eyes...

Re: Creative Loafing Contest
I was just reading the winning stories from NPR's "Three Minute Fiction" contest, round two. Writers had to send in an original short story that can be read in three minutes or less, and it had to begin with, "The nurse left work at 5 o'clock." Check out the winner and runners-up at the address below. The winning story in particular is awesome!
