Lets Agree to Disagree
Seeing as almost all of the recent posts have elicited little to no response. I think a multiple page inevitably sex-related argument is called for.
Post any evocative prompts that come to mind and we'll just pick one up and run with it. Ill give it a shot first.
Why is fashion a shallow ridiculously inexpressive form of expression. That basically just sucks.

Re: Lets Agree to Disagree
why do some people think they have to be counter culture in order for them to be "original"? I mean really, what makes listening to pop music or being trendy makes you unoriginal?

Re: Lets Agree to Disagree
I was gonna knock on subcultures to and see if I could get a response. Punk in particular. What a bunch of noisy bullshit. (haha, noisy.)
Im kidding.
Im inclined to agree though in some part. In fact I think alot of what you're talking about just illustrates the fact that fashion is such a ineffective way of truly expressing oneself. Or maybe its great if you just dont have much to express besides the idea that you wanna look different than everyone else. And consequently end up looking the exact same as everyone that decides they like how you look.

Totally agree.. (Noisy...priceless). It appears as though this thread is not living up to it's name. Emily needs to respond. She's a fashionista, right?
Re: Lets Agree to Disagree
Ya I was hoping to get some kinda response from her... Id say she just hasnt checked the forum..but I thought she lived on the internet.

Re: Lets Agree to Disagree
I definitely live on the internet. A comment was made to me today that I need to be socializing with my friends and not living on the net. I replied with a simple "I am socializing." Anywho, digital lives rule.

Re: Lets Agree to Disagree
I'm kind of tired of defending fashion as a credible art form. Either you care about it or you don't and if you don't there is no way I can convince you that fashion is important or interesting. Just as I don't care a whole lot about cars or sports, and there's nothing you can say to convince me that I should.
Additionally, the fashion industry and clothing fads/trends within various subcultures are completely different things, so which one are you attacking?
But hold that thought. Maybe i will write my paper on this.

Hmm. If you're willing to offer me the views you have on why fashion is a credible art form, then the fashion industry is precisely what Im attacking.
Its not quite as simple as "either you care about it or you dont". What do you see in it thats appreciable. I cant honestly say I've bothered looking. I've got an open mind.

Re: Lets Agree to Disagree
Tell me why fashion shows consist of clothes that nobody actually wears. All I can think of when I think of fashion is Zoolander. Derelicte (?) was so ridiculous that it could be real.

Re: Lets Agree to Disagree
definitely the second. She's a mother of two, not a heroin addict, and she is actually very sexy:
These are from a Calvin Klein campaign.
p.s. i realize that one can be a mother and a heroin addict (i.e. courtney love), but yeah, that's not the case here. i think she looks healthy. oh, and models are into coke, not heroin.

Re: Lets Agree to Disagree
I was going with the heroin chic thing. See how little I know about fashion. The pictures you posted here make her look much better. I was actually thinking that she looks a bit like Johnny Depp in Edward Scissorhands...or John Mayer.
Re: Lets Agree to Disagree
maybe that means she's "girl hot"?
